Difference between MS Electrical spl in CS and MComp

Hello all, I am a graduate of Computer Science

from India, and I want to pursue my MS degree at NUS. But I find that there are two courses mentioned- MComp and MSc in Electrical Engineering specialized in Computer Science. I have seen the subjects and they look same. Can anybody tell me the difference between them?

Difference between comp engg and Mcomp

Hey,

The main difference between the above two lies in the modules that you can choose from.If you go for an MComp, u can choose from all the modules offered in the school of computing(SoC), which vary from algorithms to data mining to distributed systems, etc. In fact SoC has its own specializations.A glance thru the SoC site would help you a lot.

However the CE specialization in Engin, is more restricted.U have two compulsory modules,(Real Time OS and Multiprocessor systems).Apart from that,Its more of Multimedia Networks,High Speed Networks,Advanced Computer Networks, etc. One thing to keep in mind is that u can take only two cross faculty modules, if you go for CE from engine..which means u can take only two modules from SoC(or any other faculty)

it all depends on ur area of interest...go thru the ECE site for a list of modules that a student of CE specialization in EE can take. Then u can decide based on ur interests
